At the Ol Pejeta chimpanzee sanctuary, the 4 month old chimpanzee baby clung tightly to its mother. After many days did it dare to show it's face to me. Curious but scared, this baby's raw emotion made me question human's interference with nature. The large eyes are very captivating. The hands clinging to the mother's fur creating partings.

Mothers are very protective of their young. Even when the babies want to play, the mothers have a close contact with them throughout. Here the mother is holding back her baby at the chimpanzee sanctuary at Ol Pejeta conservancy. You can see the baby's curiosity pulling him to venture far from the mother. The gentility, strength and love are shown by the mother's hand in contrast to the baby's sponge (wants to take in the world) eyes.
Sitting snugly in mother's lap, this 4 month old chimpanzee baby opens his eyes wide open, totally fearless. He knows with mother by his side, he is fully protected in Ol Pejeta chipanzee sanctuary, Laikipia.
